We have been running a Code Club at our school since October 2012. The children absolutely love using Scratch and completing the projects each week. We were approached by the local Linux User Group (LUG) who were keen to support the teaching of coding in schools. They were able to refurbish old unwanted laptops and installed Ubuntu and Scratch on them. These are now available for the children to take home so that they can continue their coding projects at home. Needless to say, the scheme has been very popular with the children! It also provided the opportunity for a good news story in our local newspaper. Why not approach your local LUG to see what they can do for you?
