POCKET CODE - Free android app. Similar to the Scratch language. BEE BOT - Free and paid versions based on the already popular floor robots. Currently only available for iOS. DAISY THE DINOSAUR - Ideal as an introduction to coding for FS/KS1 pupils. Currently only available for iOS. HOPSCOTCH - Similar to Scratch but in App format. Free download. Currently only available for iOS. LIGHT-BOT - Learning programming concepts through problem solving games and activities. LITE version available free through your web browser or full version as a paid for app. Android and iOS. PUFFIN BROWSER - Flash enabled browser for iOS and Android. Gives access to flash coding activities on tablet devices. There is a free version for education but only allows access to pre-approved activities. CATO'S HIKE - Programming App available for iOS and Android. Free for Lite version. MOVE THE TURTLE - Teaches the basics of programming. Available for iOS. KODABLE - Free app for iOS for children 5 years and up. SCRATCHJR - Free Ipad and android app. Scratch programming language for KS1. Due to be released later in 2014. SCRATCHED - Online community of educators using Scratch. Some great resources plus forums for asking questions and finding like minded people. Scratch Programming in easy steps by Sean McManus (Book) - Available for around £10 online. Introduces you to Scratch, key programming concepts and includes sample projects. SUPER SCRATCH PROGRAMMING ADVENTURE - Free ebook. Lots of Scratch projects presented in a comic book style. SIMON HAUGHTON SCRATCH PROJECTS - Primary Teacher who shares his ICT lesson plans including some Scratch Projects. CODE.ORG - A brilliant website packed full of ideas for coding in Education and lots of free resources available via the Hour of Code. TYNKER - A fun and engaging way to learn how to code through games and puzzles. Standard version is free to schools. Try it out by accessing Tynker via the Hour of Code. LEGO WEDO - Build models and program them to move using the Lego Software or Scratch. CODE-IT - Great website and blog by a CAS teacher. Includes lots of resources and projects for teaching coding. SIMON HAUGHTON - Lots of resources including booklet on how to teach Computing and example projects. APPSHED - A powerful tool for app creation. SNAP - Similar to Scratch but without built in sprites and backgrounds etc. KODU - Free 3D game design software from Microsoft. Teaches coding through selection statements.
